Learn more about yourself and the challenges faced by children around the world through doing a minimum three-month volunteer placement or internship in the Philippines on Viva’s Impact Programme, starting this summer.

Viva’s sister organisation, Viva Denmark, has been running Impact for over 20 years, sending out teams of Danish volunteers to Viva partner networks around the world, twice a year.

This year, for the first time, we are officially joining forces with their innovative teaching and learning volunteer programme to give UK volunteers the chance to join the team travelling to the Philippines in August.

Working in a team alongside other volunteers and staff in our partner network, PCMN, you will experience how the local church and community is at the heart of tackling poverty and injustice, and have the chance to show love in practical ways as you visit and learn from inspirational communities.

Impact is especially ideal at young people (for instance, gap year before or after university) who are eager to learn and grow, both personally and professionally, and who are flexible and adaptable.

During the placement, you will helping where the need is greatest, and could be involved in anything ranging from after-school clubs to feeding programmes, and from tutoring children in English to providing social work support on active cases.

The programme includes some training beforehand and debriefing afterwards; both UK-based.
